Although there are approximately 80 different plant species of coffee, probably the most important and certainly the most well known are "Coffee Arabica" called Arabica, and "Coffea Canephora", known as Robusta.

Arabica is mainly grown on the Ethiopian Plateau and is widely used in all Arab countries.  Arabica is also grown in Brazil, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Columbia, Venezuela, Santo Domingo and Haiti and are refined and classified as mild coffees.

The Robusta constitutes just a few varieties, and is generally cultivated in Africa, India, Vietnam, and Indonesia.  Robusta is a stronger taste and richer body than Arabica.

A variety of different factors affect coffee flavor: Country of origin, processing methods, preparation, roasting and preservation and the type of beans.  For example, Arabica contains half the amount of caffeine as Robusta.  The taste is also affected by the mineral content, which consists of potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphates and sulfates.  Add to that the natural oils, carbohydrates, glucose and fructose which results in the aroma and flavor.
